If you have a budding scientist in your family, A Paddling of Ducks, written by
Marjorie Blain Parker and illustrated by Joseph Kelly, can be a great tool to
begin studying animal's collective names.
Animals are listed alphabetically, named by their collective name (example: G is for a band of gorillas, Q is for a
bevy of quail), and then pictured in some funny scenes. The gorillas are actually playing in a
band!
